music to my ears.

stinson beach, ca

I'm back home in the dreary Pacific Northwest after an amazing, sunny, and warm (well, warmer than it's been here in SW Washington) four day vacation in the Bay Area. Since I've been home I've spent much time processing and reliving this wonderful weekend meeting friends and spending some quality time alone with the husband.
The most amazing thing to me about meeting these far-away friends whom I only know through photography and blogging was finally hearing their voices. I've spent years reading their blogs and hearing my own made-up version of their voices. It was music to my ears to finally hear them in real life. I've got a lot to say about my wonderful time in California, but still haven't found the words to express how I feel about it all. So for now let me just say -
it was sunny,
it was warm,
I could have spent the entire weekend on those beaches,
and I enjoyed just being Andrea for a little while.

Wow—the sliver of focus in this picture is fascinating, and I love the composition. My eyes are roaming all over trying to soak it all in. Glad you had a nice getaway!

It's nice to just have that time to be "us", isn't it? So happy you had some good quality time with the hubby. It was so nice to hear your voice, too. :)

So glad you had a great time with the girls and with your hubby too.
I regularly talk to the same people on the phone at work and have put a face to their voices...I would love to meet some of them in person someday.

You said it perfectly, "just time to be Andrea." THAT is what I love about weekends away without my family. I am simply Michelle. Well said. And I'm with you, I could've spent every single minute on the beach, too.

Oh yes! That's exactly it! Time to just be who we are. I didn't even realize that was it. Thank you for putting words to what I felt this weekend. It was so good to meet you too and hear your voice! And that photo is just gorgeous!
