doggie disneyland.

85/366
Sunday we went to the dog park aka Doggie Disneyland. Eric and Max actually took Sammy on Saturday, but I chose to stay home and have some alone time. But Sunday we all piled in the car, made a Starbucks run (it was Sunday, so I was okay to have my latte) and headed to Doggie Disneyland. Sammy had a blast. She ran and played and got stinky. All blissful events in a dog's world, especially the stinky part. And Max followed her all around, so it was really a great two-for-one deal for us - wear out the dog and the boy. ;) The dog park is situated right in the path of some large power lines. You know, the giant structures that look like big men that hold those big power lines. One after another the men are lined-up for as far as the eye can see. While there was cute doggie-ness all around me, I chose to look up this day and shoot these lines instead.

(The collage is not what I wanted it to be...I am not a fan of Picasa. But with Picnik going bye-bye in April, I have to find something new for collages. If anyone can give me some pointers on Picasa I'd appreciate it! No idea how to move the photo around within the collage or size it down...or do anything really. And if anyone knows how I get rid of that faint border around my photos in blogger - I will be forever grateful. No clue how to get rid of it and it kinda drives me crazy. Maybe it's my blogger template?)

You know what stood out to me in this post: Your Sunday Coffee.

Is it just me or do all the freedoms and treats that we get to have on the Sabbath (Feast Day) just feel so much more special now that they are limited? Almost every feast day of lent I've had pasta. I never realized how big a part of my life Italian food was until this fast. :)

Funny - I just asked tracey on her blog the other day about her collages, hoping against hope that she didn't use Picasa b/c I'm terrible w/ Picasa...but she does. :) She would probably be a great person to ask - maybe she'll respond. I would love answers to your questions also - those are my main troubles too! I was also told that Coffeeshop Blog has nice free collage templates but I haven't checked them out yet.
I LOVE these black and whites. Really.

So for the faint line around the edges of the photos... I just googled "how to get rid of line around photos in blogger", or something like that, and I was able to find a site that told me how to do it. It will have you plug in some html code into your template, if I remember right. Whatever site I found explained it very nicely and it seemed easy to do and worked like a charm.

Collages... I use Picasa, too. It's not my favorite program, but it works. I don't think there is a way to move the photo around within the collage (or if there is I haven't figured it out?). I just play around with the different ones on the side bar on the left hand side until I get the size/collage I want. I've tried doing some collage templates in PSE, but it always seems like those are more complicated than PIcasa, so I just use Picasa.

Love these b&w's!!

To get rid of the line around your photos, go into the template editor part of blogger, then go to advanced, then images, and choose white for the border color!

I used to use picasa now and then for collages, but I downloaded the free program Photoscape and I believe it's the combine photos section that has all the collage templates. You can change the ratio and everything there too!

Great shots!

Oh never mind, I see you already figured that out about the borders!! :)

Well darn, the way I thought you could do it didn't work. It just made the border go away on one side and the top. So how did you get rid of it? lol

Also, I told you I would let you know if I found out the name of the purple trees! They are red buds! Guess kind of like how red onions are purple? lol They should be called purple buds and purple onions! :)

Super excited that I learned some things about border and collages in this post! Thanks and please keep asking these questions so we can all learn together.
